"Wasteland. Scorched Earth," a short 53-page guide divided into chapters, is a treatise on street survival, the result of my experience (let's call it that) of living as a homeless person on the streets of Rome between August 2016 and May 2017. Divided into topics (how to eat, how to wash, what dangers to avoid, and so on) it is a guide that could be useful not only to those who by chance or misfortune should one day find themselves in such an arduous existential condition; but also to those who would like to get an idea of what the reality of urban wandering is like in the 21st century. While the more human and narrative part of such an experience of mine is set forth in my autobiography "La gare de temps," this guidebook aims instead to be a technical manual (I would not like to say tactical here because it is an exaggeration) of survival in difficult contexts such as urban suburbs , shelters and collective canteens.
